Privacy note
This note explains how Desktop Craftline handles personal data when you write to us, visit the site, or send a time-recording export for a matter picture.
Data controller
Desktop Craftline is the controller for enquiry data and for any personal data that remains in an export you send. Postal address: 70 Lammas Street, Grays, RM17 5ET, United Kingdom. Email: hello@desktop-craftline.click. Telephone: 07946173086.
What we collect
From the contact form: name, email, the work you selected, optional headcount and preferred date, and your message. From email or telephone: whatever you choose to tell us. From a project export: matter identifiers, status, dates, hours, and fee-earner codes as supplied by you. We ask you to code or omit client names where possible. Server logs may include IP address and browser type for security of the static host.
Why we use it
We use enquiry data to reply and to prepare a scoping note (legitimate interests in running a professional practice, and contract steps). We use export data only to draw the agreed pictures and to brief you (contract). We do not sell lists. We do not use enquiry data for bulk mail without a separate, clear request.
Retention
Unsuccessful enquiries are deleted after eighteen months. Accepted engagement files, including exports, are kept for twelve months after the last pack or briefing, or for as long as a monthly arrangement runs plus twelve months. Invoices and contracts are kept for six years to meet ordinary accounting needs in the United Kingdom. Cookie choice is stored in your browser; see the cookies page.
Your rights
You may ask for a copy of your personal data, correction, deletion, restriction, or objection, and you may complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office. If we process on contract, you may also ask for portability of the data you provided. Rights are not absolute where we must keep invoices or defend a claim.
International transfers
The site may be hosted on infrastructure that stores copies outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, we rely on the host’s appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) as described in their own terms. Project exports are stored on encrypted disks in the United Kingdom unless a briefing requires a temporary copy on a laptop taken to your offices, which returns with us the same day.
Processors
We use an email provider to receive hello@desktop-craftline.click and a web host for this static site. We do not pass matter exports to those processors. Analytics cookies, if you accept them, are described on the cookies page.
